Why a Blog?

I've been meaning to write more for a while. Over the years, I've accumulated thoughts on distributed systems, engineering leadership, and building things at scale - and also on a lot of things that have nothing to do with work. I figured it was time to start putting them somewhere permanent.

What to Expect

I plan to write about:

• Technical deep-dives - distributed systems, search infrastructure, large-scale data platforms.
• Engineering leadership - how I think about team building, technical strategy, and cross-org alignment.
• Life outside work - random things I've learned, observed, or am currently figuring out.

A Bit About Me

I'm currrently a software engineer at Meta, where I lead teams working on large-scale search and retrieval systems. Before that I was at Amazon, Walmart/Jet.com, and Microsoft. I've had the chance to work on some fascinating problems across FinTech, Supply Chain, Messaging, and Productivity tooling.
